José Antonio Sistiaga
May / June 2009
This exhibition is formed by six of the eighteen drawings of Sistiaga that our Gallery owns, accompanied by a small naked made of bronze from Baltasar Lobo.
Made with chalk of prusia blue wax on role fidelys white, they can be appreciated like a succession of stills in which Sistiaga fragments the rhythm of the female curves, drawing against the light the body of the model situated against a great large window.
In words of the artist, 'they are like musical improvisations with the piano... Drawings carried out with the left hand at high speed, in which I did not look at the role neither the development of the work, only maintaining my view put in the bodies of the models, in its movements and, by the sound of the wax on the role, knew if I was making mistakes'.
